  Ehrlichial Genome Sequencing Project
Funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grant # R01 AI47885
Project Description:
Determine the complete nucleotide sequences of genomes of three divergent human Ehrlichiosis agents: Ehrlichia chaffeensis, Anaplasma phagocytophilum, and Neorickettsia sennetsu.
Comparative analysis of sequenced genomes of Rickettsiales and other bacteria.
(For background information of human Ehrlichiosis, agents of Ehrlichiosis, and Ehrlichial Research Laboratory, please click on buttons on left panel to navigate the entire website).

Project Progress Status: Archived Project Progress
  • Blast search with lastest annotation database is available at local blast search server.
  • January 2006: Genome annotation is completed, and the manuscript is published at PLoS Genetics (Feb 2006 issue).
  • December, 2004: All genome sequences are closed and the final annotation/manual curation/point mutation analysis is in progress.
  • June 3, 2003: Genome sequences of E. chaffeensis and N. sennetsu are completed and analysis is in progress.
  • July 5, 2002: TIGR has completed random sequencing of E. chaffeensis and gap closure is under way (41 contigs; 1,205,083 total letters).
Also, random sequencing of Anaplasma phagocytophilum is in progress.
