  Ehrlichial Genome Sequencing Project
Funded by The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grant: RO1 AI47885

Early Data Release Policy on nucleotide sequences from TIGR:

The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) releases data very rapidly to ensure that our scientific colleagues have access to information that may assist them in the search for genes and their biological function. Data releases do not constitute scientific publication, but rather provide investigators with information that may "jump-start" biological experimentation. Users of this information are encouraged to share their results with TIGR in order to improve annotation of the sequence data. Data or information may contain errors or be incomplete and should be regarded as preliminary.

TIGR asks that you acknowledge the source of information obtained from this site in any publication by including the following sentence in both the Materials and Methods and Acknowledgement sections: "Preliminary sequence data was obtained from The Institute for Genomic Research website at http://www.tigr.org." Also include the following text in the Acknowledgements: "Sequencing of Ehrlichia chaffeensis was accomplished with support from NIH." (Dr. Yasuko Rikihisa at Ohio State University is the Principal Investigator on NIH grant R01-AI47885, which supports the sequencing of the 1.2Mb genome of Ehrlichia chaffeensis strain Arkansas).

Similarly, if you display this data or any information derived from it on a Web page, we ask that you prominently display the following notice on that webpage: "Preliminary sequence data was obtained from The Institute for Genomic Research website at http://www.tigr.org." We request that you notify us of your electronic presentation by sending email to www@tigr.org.

Data Release Policy on nucleotide sequences from University of Oklahoma:

We would appreciate that users update us with information that will be useful in the annotation phase of the project. We also request that you acknowledge, in any publication, the preliminary DNA sequence obtained from this project. A suitable acknowledgement might include some or all of the following text, as appropriate:

Preliminary DNA sequence data was obtained from Ehrlichia chaffeensis sequencing project, a collaborative effort between the laboratories of Drs. Yasuko Rikihisa, David Dyer and Robert Munson. The E. chaffeensis sequencing project is funded by NIH grant AI 47885 to Dr. Yasuko Rikihisa.

Please notify us of any publications using this data by sending E-mail to rikihisa.1@osu.edu.
